Begins with an overview of the characteristics of students with mild/moderate disabilities and the implications of these characteristics for effective service delivery. Candidates will gain knowledge of evidence-based practices in the areas of mathematics, reading, speaking, written language, and listening which are designed to ensure access to the general curriculum across settings. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of differentiated instruction and appropriate use of accommodations and modifications. Fieldwork required. Prerequisite/Co-requisite: EDUC 530. One semester, 3 units.
