An intensive composition course which aims to develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills. More importantly, students are guided in understanding writing as a recursive process.
In this course, students will cultivate the lifestyle and discipline of looking at leadership and management through a variety of lenses. We need to look through the lenses of a follower, a new reality, as well as unfairness and morality. We also need to look through the lenses of experience, success, and failure. We need to look hard at our future. We are going to employ the use of metaphor to explore leadership and management in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Using multimedia and metaphors will make this course a thrilling adventure and an exciting journey in learning. A sampling of the authors whose articles and books we read will be Max De Pree, Frances Hesselbein, Peter F. Drucker, Allan Meltzer, Desmond Mpilo Tutu, Neil Fergusson, Robert Quinn, Kim Cameron, and others.
