The Introduction to Printmaking course offers students an opportunity to practice and experiment with a variety of art processes within the area of Printmaking. All projects are geared towards self expression and creative problem solving, pushing the conventional methodology of the art medium into a fresh dialogue, by combining current cultural interests and ideologies with more traditional printmaking techniques. The course is structured around demonstrations and projects, in-class as well as out-of class studio work and preparation, class critiques and assigned readings. The success of this course will depend greatly upon attendance and absorption of demonstrations, a commitment to studio work both during and outside of class, and careful maintenance of the printmaking facility by all studio users.
