In this course we will examine human psychological development from the prenatal period
up to adolescence. Using social, emotional, and cultural psychological frameworks that
emphasize diverse meaning systems and practices related to psychological processes, we will
study foundational theories and current research. A variety of real-world applications will be
used to illustrate frameworks, research, and patterns of cultural, social, and emotional
development. The main goal of this course is to broaden and deepen your understanding of
child development. This course is structured to promote long-term learning.
