Medicine and Culture

This course covers cultural influences on medicine, by considering global perspectives on health.  Comparisons and contrasts between traditional medicine (ethnomedicine) and biomedicine will be covered. Practices of various cultures will be introduced as well as the scientific approach to disease transmission and treatment.
